A new edition of the Giro delle Dolomiti is ready. The oldest 5-days long bicycle event for Dolomites-lovers will offer you the best road biking routes in the holiday region of South Tyrol (Italy). Expect 5 different stages with timed sections of traffic-free cycleway. The efforts of the classic Dolomite climbs are rewarded with unforgettable panoramic views in a UNESCO-protected scenery. Experience the most wonderful cycle routes up to famous peaks, through steep-sided valleys flanked by towering turrets of rock. If you’re fit and like climbing, register for the Giro delle Dolomiti, 2023 edition from July, 24th to 28th. Daily start and arrival is in the city of Bolzano.

SHORT STAGE DESCRIPTION
Departing from Bolzano in the direction of San Giacomo and Laives, we travel along roads with little traffic as far as Ora, where the road climbs with several hairpin bends along a steep porphyry wall and then opens out onto a natural terrace. With a slight gradient we reach the Lugano Pass (border between South Tyrol and Trentino) and then descend to Cavalese, the main village of the Val di Fiemme Valley. Here begins the climb to Passo Lavazè, the timed section of this stage. On reaching the finish, the road descends to Novale/Rauth, where it turns right to tackle the demanding ascent to Obereggen, the well-known ski and hiking resort at the foot of the Latemar mountain. After this last effort, a long descent to Bolzano awaits us.
