One leads over the longest suspension bridge in South Tyrol, another takes you into the magical world of legends in the surrounding area, the next invites you to reflect and yet another tells you about Haflinger horses and larches.

  • The Marterloch suspension bridge Themed trail ‘Marterloch’ Breathtaking views and a feeling almost as spectacular as flying. That's what this 9 km themed trail near Afing promises with its 20 stations centred around the historical significance of the ‘Marterloch’, once the only accessible connection between Jenesien and the Sarntal valley.
     Follow it to the longest and highest suspension bridge in South Tyrol

    Avia - the Lumberjack trail
    This adventure trail promises fun, games, history, nature and culture for the whole family. Farmer Karl accompanies you along the way through nine stations where you can touch and try out everything to do with wood.

    The ‘Guggn’ trail
    Nine play stations with colourful information boards on this themed trail, which winds its way from Jenesien via the Salten to Tschaufen through beautiful meadows and forests, are all about the larch and ‘our’ Halfinger horse.
    Please note: There is no public transport service along the route.

    The Legend trail
    On this section of the E5 long-distance hiking trail, which leads across Europe's highest larch plateau, you can immerse yourself in the magical world of legends in the area at 16 trilingual stations lovingly designed by primary school pupils.
    Tip: After your hike, from the car park Schermoos you can comfortably return to Jenesien via bus line 157.

    St Martin's trail
    Relive the life of St Martin - patron saint of the Glaning district - and experience nature and its creator with all your senses. This three-kilometre circular path of contemplation invites you to reflect and explore together.
    Please note: This trail is not accessible by public transport.

    The Flaas educational history trail
    Experience history at first hand: The fascinating epochs of the Ice Age, Stone Age and Roman times as well as the history of Flaas are brought back to life on this circular educational trail created by primary school pupils from the fraction.

    Castelronda castle trail
    Pssst! If you are very quiet, you might hear them - the stories of the old walls along the historic Bolzano castle trail ‘Castelronda’, which stretches for around 20 kilometres between Bolzano, Jenesien and Terlan and promises a hike with magnificent views.

    The chestnut trail
    The final section of the 90-kilometre ‘Keschtnweg’, chestnut trail, trail takes you from the Runkelstein castle in the province capital Bolzano past idyllic vineyards and through vineyards on the slopes of the Guntschnaberg to the chestnut trees in Glaning.
    Please note: There is no public transport connection from Glaning.
