Chestnut Weeks in Jenesien
Your golden autumn treat in all variations
Let's go to the Chestnut Weeks in Jenesien! Every year in October, we celebrate ‘our’ sweet chestnut - everything revolves around the round autumn fruit. After all, Jenesien has the most chestnut trees in the whole of South Tyrol - including some that are over 100 years old! In times gone by, the sweet chestnut was the ‘bread of the poor’ - but today it is considered a true superfood. Packed with high-quality nutrients, you can enjoy them in many different ways.
Your delightful programme
During the Chestnut Weeks, Jenesien and its hamlets offer several opportunities for this - whether it's Törggelen or delicious chestnut specialities in the various restaurants, the ‘Keschtnpfonn’, the chestnut market in the centre of Jenesien, or the guided chestnut hikes to Glaning and Afing. Take a look at the programme for this year's Chestnut Weeks - we look forward to your visit!
