We start our hike in the village center of Aldein and follow the main road to the Pizzeria Waldrast. Here we follow trail no. 9 to trail no. 11 (towards Lerch). We pass the Scheidnerhof farm. Now we walk a short distance along the main road and turn left into Praderweg until we reach the fork in the path. From here we follow trail no. 15 to the Schmieder Alm mountain inn at 1680 m. Passing the Schönrast Alm snack station, we walk downhill via the Pichlwies to the Maria Weißenstein pilgrimage site at 1526 m. The way back is via trail no. 10 to the village center of Aldein or with the hourly bus connection.

Coming from Auer or Neumarkt, drive along the Fleimstaler Straße until the junction to Aldein / Maria Weißenstein. From there, follow the main road for approx. 6 km to Aldein and take the road on the right into the village center until you reach the parking lot.Parking
