This walk has been named after the important German painter Albrecht Dürer (1471-1528). During his first trip to Venice, in 1494, due to a flood in the Adige Valley, he had to make a detour through Pochi di Salorno to the Val di Cembra. It is delightful to follow the historical trail through these enchanted woods. We can walk past the Pochi di Salorno mill, past the earth pyramids and the Segonzano Castle, which Dürer immortalized in his paintings.

The Dürerweg starts at the Klösterle in St. Florian/S. Floriano in Laag/Laghetti. From here, head towards the centre of Laag/Laghetti. Continue south on trail no. 7 through the village past the tennis court. The somewhat steep ascent is rewarded with a unique view of the South Tyrolean lowlands. The trail continues on a cobbled path to the Roman bridge, which continues over the gorge of the Laukusbach stream. Then turn right and follow the wide path to Buchholz/Pochi. There take path no. 8. In Buchholz/Pochi you can visit the sculpture garden of the artist Sieglinde Tatz-Borgogno. It is located below the St. Ursula Church and features over 200 impressive bronze and marble figures. The sculpture garden is freely accessible all year round.

Follow trail no. 8 and then no.1 through the magnificent Trudner Horn Nature Park towards the Sauchhütte/Rif. Sauch (refreshment stop) and the Holy Lake / Lago Santo (swimming opportunity). Then continue into the Cembra Valley (Cembra, Ponte di Cantilaga) to Segonzano. There, the earth pyramids and the castle Segonzano are well worth seeing.
