The starting point is the car park at Kalkofen in Gschnon. There is also a large picnic meadow here. From here take forest trail No. 3A towards Kanzel and enjoy the magnificent viewpoint. A view over the entire valley up to the Bolzano basin opens up. Take the same way back to the Gsteig junction (No. 11). Cross the road and descend into the valley where Mühlbach and Plentenbach meet. Take trail No. 10 uphill towards the former Pernter inn and Dorfner inn. The monastery of Gschnon is beautifully situated here in an idyllic setting. Return via the paved road on trail No. 4 to the car park.
