A beautiful circular hike around Lake Kaltern in the beautiful South Tyrolean lowlands awaits you. Several restaurants and bars invite you to stop by. The hike is doable all year round and is especially suitable for families and running enthusiasts.
The starting point is just before the village of Klughammer. There is a small, shaded parking lot on the right side. We hike alongside the asphalt road heading north to Klughammer. After the Parc Hotel, turn left. We walk through wonderful orchards and vineyards around the lake. Again and again, we enjoy magnificent views of Kaltern, the blue shimmering lake, and the entire lowlands. Of course, the path also leads us over beautiful wooden paths through the Lake Kaltern biotope. The reed area at the southern end of Lake Kaltern is a nature reserve. It is a nesting place for countless and rare birds as well as marsh animals. We hike through here on the nature experience trail and can admire frogs and amphibians. Soon we reach the starting point again.
