A wonderful circular hike around Lake Kaltern in the beautiful South Tyrolean lowlands awaits you. Several restaurants and bars invite you to stop for a break. The hike can be done all year round and is particularly suitable for families and running enthusiasts.
The starting point is just before the village of Klughammer. There is a small, shady car park on the right-hand side. We walk next to the Alphalt road in a northerly direction until we reach Klughammer. After the Parc Hotel, we turn left. We walk through beautiful orchards and vineyards around the lake. Again and again we enjoy wonderful views of Kaltern, the shimmering blue lake and the entire Unterland. Of course, the path also takes us along beautiful wooden paths through the Lake Kaltern biotope. The reed area at the southern end of Lake Kaltern is a nature reserve. It is a nesting place for countless rare birds and swamp animals. We hike through it along the nature discovery trail and can admire frogs and amphibians. We will soon reach the starting point again.
