    The Altrei Loop is an ideal tour for beginners and leisure cyclists. Covering nearly 14 kilometers, it follows well-maintained gravel forest paths through the Trudner Horn Nature Park, one of South Tyrol’s most biodiverse regions. With moderate ascents and stunning views, it provides a relaxing outdoor experience. The best time to ride is late spring, summer, and autumn.

    Roadbook

    Starting in the center of Altrei, the tour descends past the church and continues to the Ebner hamlet. A gently rising forest road leads up to the Ziss Saddle, then continues past the Pausa farms to Krabes Alm. After a short break, the route follows a scenic path past a biotope, with a brief climb up to restaurant Ebnerast, before rolling gently back into Altrei/Anterivo.

    Buses run from Auer/Ora or Neumarkt/Egna to Altrei/Anterivo, with a transfer in San Lugano. Only three bikes per trip can be transported, so advance planning is recommended.

    Directions

    To reach Altrei/Anterivo from Auer/Ora, follow the SS48 towards Cavalese. After about 10 km, turn off at Montan/Montagna onto the SP72 and follow the winding road uphill. After another 12 km, you will reach Altrei, located on a plateau in the Trudner Horn Nature Park. The journey takes about 30 minutes.
