The classic Hufeisentour begins in the eastern Sarntal Alps from the main village of Sarentino/Sarnthein. It includes 7 or 8 stages and runs counterclockwise. The route can be followed in the other direction, of course, and can also be started from numerous villages. The Alpine ridgeway around the Sarntal Alps can be enjoyed by families with children (aged 8 and over) as well as by sure-footed and experienced hikers. Starting at the Penser Joch pass, choose between the extreme and family route. Detailed information about the trail entrances and interesting attractions en route and a little off the trail are included in the Hufeisentour map set.
