The hike partly follows forest paths and steeper sections. Sure footing is required, especially in the Katzenleiter section. Trails can be slippery when wet. Check the weather conditions before starting and wear suitable footwear.Roadbook
From the centre of Auer/Ora, the so-called Gassenlabyrinth, via the Katzenleiter (waterfall!) towards Aurer Schlossberg with the ruined remains of the former castle Leiterburg. Continue via Karnol and the Lahnweg (no.1). Keep to the left at the junction with trail no. 10 A. Continue to the Burgstallegg ruins, the first impressive vantage point. Take trail no. 17 to the Göllersee lake (circumnavigation possible). In around 20 minutes to the Rotwand vantage point with a wonderful view of the Etschtal valley and the Adamello, Brenta and Ortler mountain ranges. The same way back to Auer.
