Murundum route nr. 5 - "Kofl Leitenweg"
Südtirols Süden
Kofl – Leitenweg, from Margreid to Penon – Murundum Trail No. 5
We start at the Stations of the Cross chapel in Margreid and walk uphill through the historic village center. After crossing the Fennberg stream, we continue ascending along the Leitenweg towards Entiklar. Soon we turn left onto the Lahnsteig, which first leads us through vineyards and then through woodland to Penon. Along the way, we cross a small stream whose limestone deposits form impressive tufa formations.
Passing the kindergarten, school, and church, we head downhill again along the Kofelweg, where on the left side we can take a break in the shade near a waterfall.
We continue descending towards Entiklar, where the fairy-tale garden of the Schlosskellerei Turmhof delights visitors of all ages.
The final stretch of the hike leads us back along the Leitenweg towards Margreid.
