The circular hike to Königswiese starts at the parking lot in Gfrill and turns right into hiking trail no. 4 at the entrance of the hamlet. This trail leads over cozy mountain meadows past the Wiesenhof and the Aalbach to the Drei Fichtenhof, which is nestled in dense forest below Königswiese. From here, trail no. 4a accompanies hikers through fairytale beech forests and picturesque mixed forests. Those who walk quietly with open eyes and ears through the forest might be lucky enough to see one of the many chamois or even a black woodpecker. Shortly before Königswiese, the hiking trail turns onto trail no. 6 to reach Königswiese, located at 1,622 m. Since 2013, a striking mountain cross has stood on Königswiese. Trail no. 6 then leads back toward Drei Fichtenhof, with glimpses of Gfrill between the trees. The return route heads back to Wiesenhof, where you can see the picturesque little church “Maria Heimsuchung in der Wiese,” which the noble Salurn family “von Feigenputz” had built in 1680.
