The romanesque church St.Jakob on the Langfenn is positioned on the most visible and on the highest point of the Salto (1525m). The church stands on prehistoric ground and could tell us probabely many interesting and exciting historical things. Hike from the Gastrein car park above Verschneid along trail no.12 to Gschnoferstall. From Gschnoferstall, hike along trail no. 6 until it intersects with trail no. 12A. Finally, hike the last stretch along trail no. 1 to Langfenn.

Directions
By car from the Brenner Pass, take the A22 motorway to the Bolzano Sud exit, then take the MEBO expressway in the direction of Meran until the Terlan exit. At Terlan, the mountain road to Verschneid/Mölten begins. From Verschneid follow the road past the church to the Gastrein car park.
