From Mendel Pass to Roen

Route: Just behind the station building, take the forest path (marking no. 500) uphill. Pass the Gentian Hut, then take the path to the left and continue to the half-way hut, then follow marking no. 500 to the Romeno Alm hut and further to the Roen peak. Wonderful panoramic view of the Dolomite mountain world and the Ortler area. Alpine flora blooming at the end of June. {MQ} Recommended variant: At the Romeno Alm hut, turn left to the Überetscher hut (marking no. 10) and from there climb the via ferrata (marking 23) up to the Roen peak. Only for sure-footed and fearless mountain hikers! Additional walking time for variant: ¾ hour.
