The starting point of the hike is in the village center of St. Michael/Eppan. The tour leads past Freudenstein Castle up to Eppan Berg via the Way of the Cross (marking 8B). Before Kreuzstein, turn right onto path no. 8A to the Castle Trail and from there to the castle triangle. Passing Boymont Castle, it goes north towards Hocheppan Castle. From here continue on marking 12 to Perdonig. Just above Kasererhof turn left and take the forest road (marking 8) with gentle ups and downs back to Eppan. Turn left at Steinegger and downhill to Schulthaus Castle. Along the Furglauerbach it goes back to the starting point.
