Starting from San Giacomo/St. Jakob, follow the street Via A. Thaler, which after a challenging climb leads to the small church of San Giacomo. Continue along the same road, until on your right a trail leads through the apple orchards. This trail brings you to trail no. 3, which leads to Flavon/Haselburg castle, a half-ruin near Bolzano/Bozen.
After a total hiking time of one hour, you arrive at the castle. From here you have a wonderful view of the city. There is also a renowned restaurant inside the castle. To return, follow the same path back to San Giacomo/ St. Jakob in just under an hour.
