Small Aldein alpine round

The small Aldein alpine hike starts at Lahneralm in Aldein. From there you walk up a small shady forest path to Gasthof Schmiederalm. There you enjoy the view over the Merano mountains, the Mendel range and in the background the Ortler mountains and the Brenta group. Then continue on a forest road, first through dense, shady woods, then on a sunny alpine path to Schönrastalm. The cows grazing there in summer complement the picture of the idyllic alpine pasture, and its sunny location also invites you to linger. From Schönrastalm we hike on a shady forest road through the Kösertal and downhill back to Lahneralm. There in summer the sheep are tended by the local farmer.
You can stop at all the huts, each offering its own traditional South Tyrolean specialties to enjoy. While you enjoy your snack, the little ones can let off steam on the playgrounds.
The hike is not suitable for strollers.
