At the car park, follow the signpost marked no. 18.Leuchtenburg Castle, originally the seat of the Lords of Rottenburg, was first mentioned in a document in 1286. It was probably built around the year 1200 on the foundations of a prehistoric rampart castle. Sparse frescoes still exist. Beautiful views of Lake Kaltern, the South Tyrolean Wine Road and the Adige Valley.
