Von Eyrl Promenade
Ritten
The Von Eyrl Promenade on the Ritten is one of the oldest walking paths in the region, built in the mid-19th century by the Von Eyrl family. The gently sloping path connects Lengmoos with Klobenstein and features several viewing platforms along the way, perfect for pausing and enjoying the scenery. Originally, the promenade was used by monks from the nearby parish house as a “breviary trail,” where they observed the mandatory Liturgy of the Hours at specific times of day. This public prayer for church officials was structured so it could be completed in a single session, independently of daily activities. Today, the path is easy to walk and also suitable for strollers. After extensive restoration as part of an EU project, the promenade has regained its historic charm, lined with beech, oak, and pine trees.
